OUR STORY
We’re Nick and Erica and we are the husband and wife team behind Blushing Fields Flower Farm. We’ve always felt a deep connection with creativity and nature but it wasn’t until we started planning our own wedding where we found a way to marry the two. We’ll never forget how amazing our living room smelled and the feeling of walking into a room filled with the “left over” flowers from our wedding. We did everything we could that week to make each flower last as if they were the only thing keeping our special day from ending.
After that week we started researching, brainstorming, reading books, and visiting local public farms to learn as much as we could about farming. We wanted to find out how to make flowers a part of our life forever and share them with our community. Without any experience or family history in agriculture we decided to take the leap on our own and begin our adventure to surround ourselves and our family with a life full of beauty and nature.
Today we live and grow on our 10-acre farm in Columbus, New Jersey where we are forever restoring our 19th century farmhouse. We are the happiest parents to two young boys! Showing them the beauty that is constantly around us here on the farm is a true blessing. We love to travel to new places, take endless pictures, and bring any inspiration we find on our travels back to our farm.
Before the farm took its roots Erica owned her own calligraphy business for weddings and events where she created custom invitation suites and hand addressed envelopes. Aside from calligraphy, Erica has worked in corporate retail since graduating college (where she met Nick!). After being a part of the retail and stationery industry for years she decided to leave her corporate city job and focus on farming and floral design full time. Fast forward to today Erica is now the President of the Jersey Cut Flower Market and manages both the farm and large scale weddings for Blushing Fields. She is the proudest mama to her two little boys!
Outside of farming Nick is a musician and song writer. His music has lead him across the country with his touring band. He enjoys the mechanics and science of farming and floral design. Being able to share a creative dream and life together with Erica as well as being a father are his favorite things in the world.

Fate brought us together when we were in desperate need of extra hands on the farm. Our business grew quickly so we brought on Melissa to help us harvest. After mentioning her husband Patrick was also available we immediately knew this amazing husband and wife team would make the perfect additions to our farm family.
